Senior Graduation

Southwest High School CAST Stem High School Graduation Festival
5:00-7:00 - Food trucks and games will be available (Southwest Elementary)
6:15 - Seniors will report to the Senior Walk staging area to prepare for the walk
6:30 - Walk Begins from the Arches to the Spring Sports Complex
 7:00 - Ceremony/Car Giveaway

Seniors will be informed of the rules for the following two weeks, as well as receive their Senior Timeline and Senior Checklist.   
Seniors will have until May 13 to get all signatures and turn their timeline in to the counselors.
Any senior that does not have their timelines turned in by May 13 will not be allowed to participate in any senior activities, up to and including the graduation ceremony.

Seniors must turn in their completed checklists to their counselors during lunch

 May 11 - 1,3,5,7
 May 12 - 2,4,6
 May 13 - Make up exams
All failures must be turned in to Mrs. Allen and Mr. Garcia no later than 4:30 pm on May 12.  Students will be considered passing if their name is not submitted by 4:30.  

 

Seniors report to the competition gym by 8:50.  Students who arrive after 8:50 will not be allowed into the competition gym for graduation activities.  This may result in the student not being allowed to participate fully in the graduation ceremony.

All students that have not turned in their checklist will be pulled from the gym and must remain separated from graduates until they turn in their checklist.

Mr. Johnson will explain the rules and expectations of the graduates for both the practices and the graduation ceremony.  

Students released –after all activities are completed.

Students needing to make up credit or attendance will be removed from the gym and placed in their alternate locations and will remain there until they have completed their time or credit requirements.  

Students not attending practice on May 15-21 will not have a seat on the floor of the dome for graduation.

Orators will be present to verify student name pronunciation for graduation ceremony.  

Additionally, students will be numbered for graduation.

Students will review all graduation day requirements and behavior expectations.  Students will be released after all senior activities are complete.  
Students needing to make up credit or attendance will remain on campus until they have completed their time or credit requirements.  
Students that need to wait on the buses will be released after lunch to holding rooms. 
Any student that is on campus after lunch without permission will face disciplinary action.

Seniors will be assigned to a bus based on their elementary/middle school and we will complete the Feeder School Senior Walk.

All students including early graduates must be in attendance from May 19-21 in order to have a seat on the floor for graduation.  Any student not present for these practices will be placed backstage during the ceremony.

Graduation Practice - May 20 & 21, 2026

Students will practice for graduation in the gym.
Students will be released after all activities are completed.

May 22, 2026 – Graduation Day - Southwest High School
All students planning on participating in graduation must take the bus from school .
There is no charge for attending graduation
Parking at the Alamodome is $10.00

Students Arrive at SWHS for food and busses - 11:15 AM
Students load busses at SWHS - 11:45 AM
Students Arrive at the Alamodome - Noon
Practice at the Alamodome – 12:30-1:50 
Doors open at the dome for guests - 2:00 PM
Students prepare for graduation backstage - 2:00-2:55
